NATURAL ORIGINS

EACH MATERIAL SERVES A DIFFERENT PURPOSE. MATERIALS SELECTED FOR DESIGN, QUALITY AND SUSTAINABILITY.

NATURAL FIBERS

Natural materials selected at the Amsterdam design studio begin their transformation through experimentation and techniques that push boundaries. From careful selection and dyeing process to hand-knotting, finishing, and final wash, each step involves the finest natural fibers processed by artisans in Nepal who have used these materials for centuries.

This generational expertise, passed down through families, ensures that Himalayan wool and Nepal nettle reach their full potential in contemporary designs while honoring deep traditions of craftsmanship.

FROM HIMALAYAN HIGHLANDS TO CONTEMPORARY SPACES, THE WOOL CARRIES ANCIENT WISDOM IN EVERY FIBER

HIMALAYAN WOOL

Tibetan Highland sheep develop thick wool to survive harsh winters at 4000 meters altitude. High levels of lanolin create natural water and stain resistance. When dyed, this highland wool retains remarkable depth of color, ensuring hues remain vibrant rather than flat.

The harsh climate creates fiber with natural resilience - high resistance yet soft to touch. Choose from a wide range of colors or opt for undyed versions in various natural tones.

UNDYED HIMALAYAN WOOL

With high resistance and soft touch, undyed Himalayan wool maintains its opaque appearance across 6 natural tones. Spanning from light to dark shades, this durability and gentle feel make it perfect for various design needs. The natural variation reflects Himalayan genetics and environmental factors. Different sheep produce different shades, and seasonal changes affect wool density and color saturation.

Keeping wool in its natural state preserves its original characteristics. Without dyeing, pieces may vary 10% from samples - this natural deviation celebrates authentic handmade character.

NETTLE'S PROMISE

FIRM TEXTURE, MINIMAL SHEDDING, MAXIMUM DURABILITY.

NETTLE

Nepal nettle grows abundantly in mountainous regions, producing strong fibers that local communities have harvested for generations. The resulting yarn has a firm texture that resists wear and sheds less than wool, making it suitable for areas with heavy foot traffic. Nettle accepts dye well, though darker colors achieve better saturation than lighter shades.

The process of transforming the plant into yarn involves a complex cooking of fiber mixed with ashes and water. This ancient chemistry creates modern performance - strength through traditional knowledge.
